The Forgotten Plague
One moonless night, a young girl, Sofia, ventured into the ancient woods seeking a rumoured herbal remedy.
In a secluded village nestled between mist-covered mountains, a mysterious illness began gripping the inhabitants. It started with subtle symptoms - a lingering cough, a fever that wouldn't break. Soon, whispers of a forgotten plague from centuries past echoed through the narrow streets.
The village doctor, an ageing man with haunted eyes, frantically searched for a cure as more fell ill each passing day. One moonless night, a young girl, Sofia, ventured into the ancient woods seeking a rumoured herbal remedy.
There, among the gnarled trees and eerie silence, she stumbled upon a hidden clearing.
In the center stood a decrepit altar, adorned with wilted flowers and cryptic symbols. As she reached out to touch the altar, a bone-chilling wind swept through the woods, carrying spectral whispers.
Suddenly, Sofia felt a cold hand on her shoulder and turned to see a shadowy figure cloaked in mist. The figure spoke in a voice as ancient as the land itself, revealing the dark origin of the plague. Terrified,
Sofia raced back to the village, only to find it deserted, shrouded in an unnatural fog. The few remaining villagers huddled in fear, their eyes reflecting a profound despair.
It was then that Sofia realized the horrifying truth - the illness was no mere disease but a manifestation of a long-forgotten curse. As the mist thickened and the whispers grew louder, she knew escape was futile.
The village had become a prison of torment, its inhabitants doomed to relive their darkest nightmares for eternity. And in that moment of realization, Sofia felt a cold hand grasp her heart, sealing her fate alongside the cursed souls of the forgotten plague.
